My sales person was convicted of driving with a suspended licence…but he had a valid driver’s licence when I hired him! How could I have avoided this?

Typically when a hiring a person that will be driving a company owned vehicle a provincial driver abstract should be requested and reviewed at the point of hire. Today, it is just too risky to hand over the keys to a new employee not knowing their driving history.
