BL030!55-17508To say that turning 50 on the weekend hasn’t been on my mind would be an understatement!  I’ve been amazed listening to people’s perspectives and comments on the Big Day. Some have said, “wow…you are turning 50” (I am not sure if that is a compliment), or “fifty is the new thirty” (which typically comes from folks who have also reached this significant milestone). Through it all, I am left debating how I feel about turning 50.  On one hand, I am reminded how old I am by the many other 50th anniversaries this year including; Doritos, Twister, Whiteout, Quaker Oatmeal and of course the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup!  On the other, I see so many people enjoying their lives and happier than ever before!

At this point of my life, I feel appreciative of all the wonderful people I have met and the strong friendships that have formed over the last 50 years. Whether it is my dear friends from the travel industry or my new relationships at ISB, I want to thank you all!  Turning 50 typically grants you the permission to treat yourself to something extraordinary such as a party, new toy, taking a trip, etc., but in turning the ‘new 30’, I have realized that the most valuable gift doesn’t cost a penny.

I want to thank you for all the best wishes I have received and look forward to returning the favour for all of you on your Big Day!
